Abstract
With a growing choice of new video services and digital
applications, operators have an increasing spectrum of revenue opportunities.
Along with these fast-paced changes, increased competition and the demands
on today’s cable operators are intensifying. Delivering today’s advanced
digital applications – as well as planning for the future of next-generation
services – through the set-top box is a critical element for a successful
digital television business plan. Operators are faced with dramatic increases
in both the number and complexity of MPEG video streams, while solving
the challenge to increase the availability of the services to consumers.
The introduction of extremely dense, flexible content managers and high-
density IP-QAM modulators can help enable operators to achieve this goal.
